Great supporting promotional literature is key for any salesperson to do their job. Corporate Folder Design: The Options
Alongside our corporate brochure design packages, we also offer a great range of corporate folders which are fast becoming a preferred alternative to heavy promotional literature. Consisting of a high quality card cover and inner flap they provide a really flexible solution which allows businesses to pre-select documentation for presentation to a client. This documentation may be a set of professionally designed inserts covering different elements of the services and products the company offers, but can also be more mundane paperwork such as quotations or terms and conditions. Whatever is included, a corporate folder keeps everything together and holds it within the company brand.
There are a number of different considerations that can affect the overall look and cost of your corporate folder design, so here is a guide to the options.

Standard shape vs. Bespoke shapes
We have a range of corporate folders in standard shapes available to all clients including options for a right hand inner flap, left hand flap or flaps on both sides. For most purposes, these are perfect but sometimes our clients have a specific purpose for the folder or ask us to create something unique to increase the folders impact. This requires us to design a bespoke template and a unique cutting die will be manufactured for the cutting process. This results in a higher printing cost, but is a one way to create the unique look that so many of our clients are looking for.
Single or Double Sided Print
When it comes to printing, your corporate folder can either be printed on just the outside (and inner flap) or on both the outside and inside of the document. Which option you choose will depend on the purpose of the folder and how much text or other information you wish to include. If the folder is replacing a brochure as the main promotional item to send to customers, then printing on the inside will offer space for covering some of the main selling points of the company. However it must be remembered that the inside right of your folder will be mostly covered by the items tucked within the flap, so might not always be instantly accessible to a client to read.
Card Choice
Our standard folders are available in a 280gsm light card and a 400gsm premium card. For most applications, the 280gsm is the perfect option, but if you are selling a premium product or service then we would recommend that you choose a higher quality card to reflect the standard of your work. It’s important to achieve the right balance between the overall look and cost of your product, so think carefully about what your folder will be used for when choosing the card.
Finish
Standard folders are available in both a matt card or gloss card finish. However, we can also add either a protective matt or gloss laminate on the outside of your folder at an additional cost. Lamination can not only enhance the overall thickness and appearance of the folder, but can also offer protection against heavy handling by your salespeople and clients.
Capacity
The capacity of your folder refers to the thickness of the spine. Our standard folders can have a 0mm, 2mm or 4mm capacity. Think about what you need to put in the folder to work out how much space you will need inside. If you are intended to store a significant amount of documents in it, then you will need to choose a higher capacity to prevent the folder from warping when it is full of inserts.
Business Card Slots
One great option for corporate folder design is to include slots in the inner flap so that a business card can be stored there. This can instantly put the contact details of the sales person directly alongside the information included. If you choose this option, then we will ask for a copy of your business card so we can make sure it will fit within the overall design of the folder. Alternatively, we can design you a new business card that matches the look of the folder and that fits in perfectly to its design.
