Although Add Design can undertake graphic design projects across the full range of digital media we also understand the importance of more traditional marketing media – and that includes flyers, business cards, advertising posters, signage and brochure design for clients in Colchester, Chelmsford and throughout Essex and beyond.
And when it comes to brochure design our Colchester clients demand the highest standards to make sure their companies and brands are presented in the best possible way. In this brochure design Colchester case study we take a quick look at some of the design work we have previously undertaken for local clients. All of these companies came to us directly looking for the design and print of a fresh new catalogue or brochure featuring their products and services.

Sports Retailer Colchester
Owners of a Colchester sport retailer came to us in need of a new brochure design to showcase all of their latest products ahead of the 2012 Olympics. It needed to be very simple yet eye catching and on trend with what is currently in fashion in the sports sector. We based their new brochure design around their current brand design and kept it very simple with a white background to ensure that the images don’t get lost within the bright colours and graphics used to reference the summer of sport.
The final A5 brochure was printed on a high gloss 115gsm paper to be cost-effective, but to ensure the minimum show-through from the bold colours and images. These strong contrasting colours came out wonderfully in print and our clients were ecstatic with the final result.
Recycling Company Colchester
One of our most interesting projects was a brochure design for a Colchester recycling company who were looking for a new brochure to feature their complete range of services. The brochure was intended to be sent to existing clients and leads to show the full spectrum of services on offer and increase cross and up-selling opportunities. As they were in the recycling industry and also a carbon neutral company, they wanted a design which would stand above their competition and also evoke the environmentally friendly ethics which are so important to the business.
To help the brochure stand out we created the design as an A4 landscape brochure. Our graphic designers used a modern leaf pattern to fit in with their existing brand colours and get across the environmental message simply and effectively. The brochure was printed on a 100% recycled offset paper for a recycled look using environmentally friendly vegetable-based inks. The offset paper is uncoated which allows the paper to soak the ink and give a very tactile and rough finish – perfect for this brochure design.
Garden Design Company Colchester
Another local company looking for high quality brochure design was a Colchester garden design company. They wanted a small A5 landscape brochure design which would showcase a range of case studies, give some background information about the company and tell potential clients everything they would need to know about the design process.
As a design-orientated company working with top clients in London and the Home Counties, they wanted the brochure to have a designer feel with a high end yet environmentally friendly look. Our graphic designers therefore went about creating something which would wow the clients and create more garden design commissions for the company.
The company already had a strong brand image so we pushed this to the forefront of the design. The overall look was intended to be very clean and simple so as not to take away from the beautiful images of the gardens taken by a professional photographer. The brochure was printed on part-recycled and FSC certified paper with a 350gsm card cover and 170gsm inner pages to provide a high quality final feel.
Our clients were so happy with the overall look that they doubled the print run to include an additional 500 copies as part of a direct mail campaign. Following successful delivery of the order we are now working on this client’s new website design. The new brochure will be transformed into an animated digital brochure with its own weblink so potential clients can be sent straight over to flick through the pages and learn all about the company.
