Business Card Options
At Add Design, we believe that a business card is never just a business card. It is an introduction to your company and an opportunity to show a new customer exactly what you are about. While a straight-forward business card has its place, we specialise in business stationery design that delivers something a little extra. To do this, we often have to look beyond the traditional business card graphic design on 85mm x 55mm size cards and find ways that we can personalise a card for each customer.
In making sure every customer has the right business card design for their business, we have a range of graphic design and print options we can call upon. Sometimes used in isolation and sometimes in combination, our aim is always to get the best business stationery design for each individual client.

Here are some options we can use to give your business card graphic design something a little extra.
Shape
Alongside the standard 55mm x 85mm rectangular business card, we offer another 6 shape design options including rounded-corners, lozenge and completely circular. For those who rely on networking, an interestingly shaped business card is an instant conversation starter. It will also help you get remembered above all the other business cards collected that day. For more innovative businesses, an unconventional business card design instantly shows everyone what you are about.
Orientation
It's a simple change, but one that can make a big difference to the overall design of a business card. Turn the card 90 degrees and you instantly have a different canvas to work with. A portrait card is especially popular with more modern businesses who like their card to stand proud.
Single / Double Sided
The front side of any business card needs to be functional and include all the key contact information. However, this leaves the reverse side free for a more creative approach. Options for the back of a business card include reinforcing the brand with a large logo based design; providing a bullet pointed summary of your services; including a tag-line to tell people exactly what you do; advertising a special offer for new customers; or simply including a single striking picture to attract the attention.
Card
There are options in card selecting depending on budget and function. Our standard card for business card design is a 350gsm gloss or silk – thick with sharp corners as standard. For high volume use, such as drop cards or cards used for advertising restaurants or other locations we can use a 300gsm gloss or silk option - still good high quality, but more cost-effective on a larger print run. For high end brands or those looking to create an impression we can use a 400gsm gloss or silk - notably more weighty, this is the thickest card option we can print on.
For the environmentally conscious and for eco-brands we can also print business cards onto recycled card options.
Lamination options
Lamination is a thin layer of plastic melded to the cards surface for protection and for a special finish. Available in both a matt and gloss option, lamination can be applied to just one side, or both sides of your business card. We use gloss and matt laminations for a range of different effects – from lifting the bright colours on a funky design, to providing durability for business cards which need to be kept.
Design
Of course, none of these options will work without a great graphic design to match. The business card is often the first item which will be handed to a new customer, so conveying the right impression through excellent business card graphic design is absolutely essential. At Add Design we don't use templates. Every business card is bespoke designed to reflect the character and branding of each company. While a wildly creative and colourful design is suitable for some businesses, for others a clean and crisp approach is required. Our 3-draft design process allows us to work alongside our clients to make sure that every design we produce is perfect for their needs.
Here is what is included in our standard business card graphic design service.
