Graphic Design Case Study - Essex Talent Management Company
We do design and print work for a number of independent training companies across Essex and throughout the UK. In fact during the recent tough economic climate, training appears to be one sector which is growing strongly and providing opportunities for new providers to start-up and succeed. Likewise, our design and print services, Essex have been in strong demand, with many Essex based companies taking the opportunity to grab new customers with new marketing material.

Although based in the heart of Essex, this start-up had ambitions to win work all over East Anglia and into London so needed a brand and promotional material which would make them stand out against the competition and look like a serious national provider.

Design and Print Essex: Logo Design Service
We started with the creation of a new logo. Although training companies provide services directly to the individual, it is usually larger organisations which commission and pay for training provision. This provides a unique challenge for a logo design. Whereas most companies are appealing to either the home consumer or B2B market, training company logo designs often have to appeal to both. This means creating a new logo which is both friendly and personal, but also professional and corporate - appealing simultaneously to the individual receiving the training (who must feel comfortable and at ease working with the company) and also to businesses commissioning the training (who must feel confident that the training company is trustworthy and large enough to cope with the size of the job).
Using our unlimited logo design package, we presented 6 different training company logo design ideas. From these, the client picked a single bold concept which they felt had the right balance of professional/friendly to work across a range of different training and marketing material.

With a limited start-up funds, the training company then had to prioritise how best to invest their marketing budget. Most jobs started with a tendering phase, where the company is invited to submit an outline quotation and proposal for consideration. Our client needed a suitable solution which would create the right impression but also allow flexibility in the content - as each proposal would include a range of different information depending on the customer.
We created a corporate folder for the company. On the outside this had a strong branding design to quickly establish the quality and identity of the company. On the inside we included a brief paragraph outlining the most important qualities of the company with a flap for holding the paperwork. The flap had business card slots cut to hold the company business card and also included a line of important accreditation and partner logos to demonstrate quality assurance.

Traditional printed stationery did not suit the way our Essex design and print customer wanted to work. They needed to print their own material for a whole range of different functions - from formal letterheads, to quotes, proposals, invoices and also the training material itself which was often tailored to individual clients. By providing a Word template letterhead design, the client was able to produce any material at any time but still be assured that it would fit within the overall brand of the company and show exactly who owned the content - an important consideration in protecting their copyright to training materials used.

The last element required was a strong online presence for the company. As well as winning larger contracts, our customer needed individuals and smaller organisations to be able to find their services online. The company also wanted to offer a range of their personality tests for sale online so individuals could conduct their own tests and submit them back to the company for the results.
Continuing the brand style we designed and built a bespoke self-management website with e-commerce section for the tests. The website gives the company complete control over the website content and will allow them to add additional pages of information or edit content from their own secure area. They will also be able to add new personality tests for download by customers.
The customer also wanted to use the website as a resource for staff and partners so they can download useful documentation from their own location. To allow this we created a staff log-in area, with each staff member having a unique username and password in order to access important documentation.
