Graphic Design Case Study - London Private Car Company
We have a large number of London graphic design customers with businesses covering everything from the financial services to conservatory companies. Design and Print London: Logo Design
Designing a logo for a taxi company is especially challenging. It must be bold and simple, yet distinctive enough to stand-out amongst a large amount of competition. For any private hire company it is essential that your name and number sticks in the head of any potential customer - if they can recall any of those details after a couple of drinks then you have been successful.
Using our unlimited logo design package, we created 6 different design concepts for this client each with a bold and bright colour scheme. London is renowned for its black cabs and we wanted to create a logo design which would stand out against this competition. The chosen logo design was in a bright blue and yellow with a distinctive 5 star design. A simple concept which would become the cornerstone of all the company's new marketing material.
The logo was supplied in a range of file formats including a EPS vector file so the new logo design could be added to fleet vehicles at perfect quality.

The first place the new brand would appear was on the business stationery. This private hire company had a large number of business customers so while the branding was bold and bright, the stationery also had to be professional and suitable for a business audience.
As well as letterhead design and print and compliment slips, we created new business card designs for the company directors to use when meeting new business clients. On the front, the design is in bold strips to match the branding. On the rear, the important accreditation logos of the Public Carriage Office, 5 star grading from the Licensed Private Hire Car Association, and ISO 9001 accreditation were included against white as outlined in their own brand guidelines.

As well as providing transport for everyday runs, the company really wanted to create awareness of it's disabled transportation service - providing specialist vehicles for wheelchair users. We created a leaflet design which would be available within the hire cars as well as for distribution amongst care providers and disability organisations.
Matching the new brand, the main focus of the leaflet was to show the new adapted vehicles in action. The company arranged a photo shoot to provide great original images which we featured large within the design.
As with all marketing for this company, the accreditation logos were featured in line with the brand guidelines of the organisations.

Design and Print London: Flyer Design
A4 and A5 flyer designs are great for some companies, but for private hire companies smaller is better. By designing a small credit card sized flyer we hoped that the flyer would find its way directly into customers wallets - ready to accompany them on a night out.
In most cases, clients want to add as much text as possible to a flyer design but our customer was aware of the importance of keeping it simple. On the front we included just the new logo and the main telephone number. On the back a note about the company's new text-on-arrival service.
The flyer was printed on a 300gsm gloss card to be cost effective, yet tough enough to survive being carried around. The drop card has been so effective that we have already completed a second and third reprint.

Summary
This customer is now one of the largest providers in London and the brand can be seen on vehicles working all across the city. As the company expands into new areas of London, a new flyer drop in the area brings in new business and a fresh leaflet delivery brings in specialist disability enquiries. We have also provided a whole range of other graphic design services to the client including signs and A1 posters to display as part of the sponsorship of a popular London Beer Festival.
