Graphic Design Case Study - Suffolk Retailer
The last few years have not been easy on high street retailers, especially for independent shops who don't have the marketing budget to run expensive TV or advertising campaigns. We were approached by an independent Suffolk home-goods store who were looking to refresh their image to help attract a new younger market segment. With a proud heritage dating back over 50 years, this shop was worried that their image was too dusty and old for the young affluent homeowners attracted by the bigger high street names.
The company realised that it was not just the image which would need a refresh, so they planned to match our updated brand with a whole new range of modern home products and new window display.

Design and Print Suffolk: Suffolk Logo Design
The company liked a lot of our previous work, but were worried that our logo design packages might be too restrictive for their needs. They not only wanted to see logo concepts they also wanted to see how these would look above the shop.
We therefore created a bespoke logo design solution. We created 3 new brand concepts. Each concept came with a new logo design, set of suggested branding colours and a new signage design for the front of the shop. Using our Photoshop expertise we were able to project each new design onto real photographs of the existing shop including changing the outside paint colour so the customer could get a true feel for how the new brand would look in place.
The customer instantly loved one of the concepts and this became the starting point for introducing the brand to the market.

Design and Print Suffolk: Launch Day Invitations
Word of mouth can be a great publicity tool. To launch the new brand, the customer asked us to design and print a Launch Day invitation. This invitation would be sent to existing customers inviting them to the shop to view the new brand and new range of products. The aim being that these customers would then spread the word to others.
Using the new brand and colours, the printed invitations were bespoke designed by our graphic designers and printed onto a thick gloss card for distribution all over Suffolk.

Design and Print Suffolk: Suffolk Brochure Design
While the launch day would help spread the word, it was also vital for the shop to hit the new customer types they wanted to attract. To achieve this, the company set out to create a new mini-brochure design for distribution to targeted housing estates all over the local area.
The company selected a range of new products which they felt reflected the new image for the shop. Using photos from the product suppliers, we put these products into a modern new A5 brochure design which showed off the new branding. With only 8 pages, the aim of the brochure was to be a cost-effective way to create awareness and draw new visitors to the shop.
The brochure was distributed alongside a popular local magazine to 10000 houses in the local area.

Design and Print Suffolk: Loyalty Cards
We have many Suffolk graphic design customers who have great success with loyalty cards. They are especially effective with a younger affluent audience who are used to collecting stamps at coffee shops and other establishments. As well as building loyalty, they sit constantly in a customers' wallet as a reminder of your brand and details.
Our retail customer decided on a 15% discount as a suitable reward for collecting stamps on purchases. We designed a stylish business card sized folded loyalty card with 6 spaces on the inside, and all the company details on the outside. These were gloss laminated on the outside to extend their lifespan and to separate them from other cards and receipts which might be kept in a wallet.
Loyalty cards were given out with every new product purchase.

The items above were just the beginning of an on-going rebrand. We have also supplied everything from new business stationery and NCR forms, to new vehicle graphics for their delivery van.
